BLACK GIRLS DO STEM

About the Position:
The Program Manager leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the BGDSTEM program model and is ultimately responsible for driving inspirational experiences for program participants. This is done through a strong project management style to deliver transformative STEM curriculum and instruction. The person in the role should be excited to regularly move between delivering strong professional development and coaching experiences, and ensuring consistent delivery of the model from instructional framework design all the way through to evaluation, feedback and continuous review management.

They will create an environment that motivates team members, volunteers, and program participants to bring the organization’s mission to life with girls building confidence/self-worth, STEM identity and core STEM skills.

Successful candidates will bring a deep understanding of STEM content, expertise in instructional frameworks, to support coaching and content implementation, and experience creating and delivering exceptional professional learning opportunities for adult team members.

Responsibilities
Project Management (30%)
● Execute strategic program plans designed to advance Black Girls Do STEM’s organizational goals and objectives across all program areas.
● Conduct comprehensive evaluations and analyses of program implementation and outcomes, preparing clear reports and communications for both internal and external stakeholders, in coordination with the Program Director.
● Provide support for organizational development initiatives, including grant reporting, funder communications, and external representation on behalf of the organization, as assigned. Primary responsibility for supporting youth leadership within these initiatives.

People Development and Leadership (40%)
● Provide comprehensive training for all staff and volunteers on the program model and instructional frameworks, fostering understanding and ensuring effective implementation of organizational initiatives.
● Inspire and support program staff and volunteers through all stages of engagement, from onboarding to ongoing professional development, promoting high-quality facilitation of STEM content.
● Coach individual team members through observation, feedback, and targeted practice and guidance to strengthen instructional practices and professional growth.
● Evaluate staff performance and professional development outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting continuous learning and excellence.

Content and Curriculum (30%)
● Serve as the organization’s lead for STEM content, ensuring alignment with program goals and standards.
● Collaborate with curriculum advisors, subject-matter experts, and educational software providers to design, implement, and evaluate all instructional materials and program curricula.
● Ensure consistency and fidelity of program delivery across all team members and regional locations, maintaining high-quality and uniform implementation.

Qualifications
● Demonstrated commitment to the mission of Black Girls Do STEM and a deep understanding of the organization’s values and purpose.
● Strong personal and professional alignment with BGDSTEM’s core values, reflecting integrity, equity, collaboration, and innovation.● Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
● At least 3 years of demonstrated success in curriculum design, learning and development,
● At least 2 years of demonstrated success in Instructional coaching of teachers or educators within traditional and/or non-traditional education settings
● At least 2 years of demonstrated success in the design and facilitation of adult learning focused in applied STEM
● Track record of implementing new programs and leading teams to achieve program goals

Working Conditions
● Hybrid: A mix of in-person and remote work; with remote work not available until 6 months after start.
● Saturday is a designated workday; however, flexible scheduling allows employees to take an alternate day off, such as Monday or Friday, in exchange for working on Saturday.
● Travel to multiple site locations for program delivery and professional development requires valid drivers license and qualifying insurance.
● Technology to support work including computers, headphones, and internet services is included as part of the role.
● Paid leave including a 5-day holiday closure, 10 additional federal holidays, 5 days of accrued paid time off, and 5 days of sick leave available at start
