About the Organization: The St. Louis Christmas Carols Association, a small 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, enters its 109th season of “Caroling to Benefit Children” in 2020. We recruit, organize and support volunteer carolers in neighborhoods and at public venues throughout the St. Louis Metro area, and also sponsor a costumed caroling group which performs at public/private holiday events. Donations collected by caroling groups are returned to the community through grants to 30+ children’s agencies each year.
Position Summary: The St. Louis Christmas Carols Association seeks an individual to serve as Interim Director for the 2020 caroling season (October 2020 – January 2021). While the organization maintains an office in Clayton, many responsibilities of this role may be carried out in a remote work environment.
Traditionally, the St. Louis Christmas Carols Association has recruited volunteer groups of all sizes to carol together during the holiday season. The COVID-19 pandemic poses a significant threat to the organization’s ability to convene volunteers in the 2020 season. The Board of Trustees seeks a creative, enthusiastic candidate to guide the St. Louis Christmas Carols Association through the months ahead, helping the organization pivot during these unprecedented times.
Specifically, this individual will possess skills to develop new and unique ways to approach caroling, manage volunteers and coordinate fundraising efforts, while upholding the mission of the St. Louis Christmas Carols Association. The ideal candidate will see opportunities for growth and greater impact despite the great challenges to the traditional model utilized by the organization.
