Moving Ahead in Uncertain Times

Nonprofit organizations everywhere are waking up to new challenges daily, as the COVID-19 pandemic changes life as we know it, at least for the time-being. Implementing remote work arrangements, deploying new technologies to communicate with clients, postponing or cancelling events, and figuring out how to fundraise effectively, with sensitivity, are top of mind for many. There is no playbook for this.

We’re here to help.

In the coming days, The Rome Group is hosting a series of virtual roundtables that are open to all of our friends. Our hope is to facilitate sharing of challenges and ideas, and create connection points during a time of isolation and uncertainty. We invite you to join us, share your experiences, ask questions, and help each other find answers to our current challenges during a time of crisis. Together, we will find a way forward.

Monday, April 6, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

During a crisis, operational questions can become overwhelming. We’ll talk about the challenges of managing remote staff, staying connected to stakeholders, HR policies, budget uncertainties, and planning for contingencies – including revenue projections – in a rapidly changing environment. We’ll also explore ways to take your mission to the public when they can’t come to you. Have a specific question you’d like addressed?

Tuesday, April 7, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

COVID-19 has caused a crisis for the world’s economy, leading the U.S. Congress to pass several stimulus bills designed to provide relief to struggling tax payers and businesses, including nonprofits. Our experts will help you understand what these stimulus efforts mean, and answer questions about their impact on your organization and your clients.

Facilitated by Jennifer Drake, Senior Consultant at The Rome Group.

Tuesday, April 14, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many organizations with difficult questions about fundraising: Should we cancel our event, or postpone? How can we encourage donors to turn event dollars into donations? Should we make our event virtual? What does that even mean? What should we be saying to donors? How do we continue fundraising without looking insensitive or opportunistic? We will tackle these questions, and others, in this 60-minute roundtable.

Are you planning a campaign, trying to finish one, or somewhere in between? We will share our experiences with campaigns during previous crises and invite you to share yours. Together, we’ll brainstorm strategies for moving forward. While this is a challenging time, it is also an opportunity to build stronger relationships with your donors and position yourself for future success. What questions or concerns do you have?
